Gaming Exposed exists because most gaming coverage does one of two things: it oversells everything with sponsored enthusiasm, or it tears everything down for the engagement. We got tired of both. This site is the alternative.
We are three people. We have been gaming for a combined total that we prefer not to calculate. We do not have a PR budget, a review copy embargo agreement, or a reason to tell you something is good when it is not. What we have is a lot of hours logged, genuine opinions, and the specific frustration that comes from reading a glowing review and then buying something disappointing.
The team
Jay handles most of the writing, the guides, and the site itself. His gaming history starts with a Game Boy in the back of a car and has not meaningfully slowed down since. He plays competitive shooters badly but persistently, single-player RPGs properly, and has strong opinions about monitor refresh rates that he will share whether or not you asked.
Zlata covers online games, smaller titles, and anything that the algorithm has not surfaced yet. She has a particular talent for finding games that nobody is talking about and playing them for three hundred hours before they become mainstream. She also has strong opinions about which co-op games are genuinely good versus which ones look good in trailers and fall apart in the second hour.
Dobs is the hardware person. He knows more about GPU architectures, cooling solutions, and peripheral specifications than any reasonable person should. He also runs what can only be described as a private gaming museum — every major console, most of the minor ones, and more games than his wife would like to acknowledge. His gear recommendations come from actually owning and testing things, not from press releases.
What we cover and how
Guides that tell you what actually works rather than what sounds plausible. Gear recommendations based on what the money is actually buying rather than what the marketing says. Game coverage that distinguishes between games worth your time and games worth talking about, which are not always the same thing. Opinion pieces that take a position rather than presenting both sides of every question and leaving you where you started.
We cover PC gaming, console gaming, and the gear in between. We do not cover mobile gaming seriously, esports professionally, or anything we are not actually interested in. Life is too short to write about things you do not care about, and readers can tell the difference.
On affiliate links and independence
Some links on Gaming Exposed are affiliate links. If you buy something through one of them, we earn a small commission at no cost to you. We do not recommend things because they have affiliate links. We add affiliate links to things we have already decided are worth recommending. The distinction matters and we take it seriously.
We do not accept payment for reviews or coverage. We do not run sponsored posts dressed up as editorial. If something is a paid partnership — which is rare — it is labelled as one.
If you have a question, a correction, or something you think we should cover, the contact page is the right place. We read everything.
